The Students’ Conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application” hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Kaunas University of Technology and the students’ union FUMSA, welcomes students specializing in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology to showcase their scientific research or final thesis. About the Conference

About

On 16 May 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Kaunas University of Technology, together with the student association “FUMSA”, is organising the scientific student conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application”.

Bachelor, Master and PhD students from Lithuanian and foreign universities are invited to discuss scientific and practical issues, present their ongoing or completed research projects and present the results of their work.

The aim of the conference is to encourage students’ scientific activities, critical thinking, research skills, data collection, analysis and presentation skills, as well as to gain new ideas, communicate, collaborate and discuss topics relevant to young people.

The event is free of charge and open to all active students interested in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and other sciences.

The conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application” was first organised in 1996. The initiator of the conference, Professor A. Aksomaitis, organised it together with the students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at KTU. The conference, which has now become a tradition, is actively supported by Kaunas University of Technology, the Lithuanian Mathematical Society and the student organisation “FUMSA” of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Important dates

Conference 16 May 2025.

Registration of speakers and submission of summaries until 9 May 2025.

Invitation of speakers until 12 May 2025.

Attendees registration until 14 May 2025.

Presentations

The conference traditionally includes only oral presentations.

Official presentations language: Lithuanian or English.
The oral presentations should be prepared using .ppt or pdf.
The time limit for oral presentation: 10-15 min.
The best presenters will be awarded.

Guidelines for abstract submission

Presenters have to submit an abstract which will be published in electronic conference proceedings:

The abstract may be submitted in Lithuanian or English languages.
The abstract should be written with MS Word editor according to the corresponding provided template.
The abstract must be uploaded during registration in the doc(x) format and specifying the title: Name_Surname_2025.
No further editing will be done on the abstracts prepared by the author(s).
