Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application

The Students‘ Conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application”, organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology, and students‘ union FUMSA, invites students of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology science to present their scientific research or final bachelor thesis. Event is orientated in students from universities, colleges and abroad countries, who want to participate, aspire to reveal their knowledge, interests or find new ideas.

About the Conference

The conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application” has been organized since 1996. The author of the idea was professor A. Aksomaitis. Professor and some students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences turned the idea into reality. It wouldn’t be possible without Kaunas University of Technology, The Association of Lithuanian Mathematicians, Student’s organization FUMSA and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences which take active part in organizing the Conference annually. The aim of the conference “Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Theory and Application” is to encourage students’ interest in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, collaboration with students from different universities, colleges and countries and initiate a discussion about the problems of Mathematics, Physics, Biology and other Natural Sciences.

The duration of the presentation should be 10-15 min. The recommended format is 10 min for presentation and 5 minutes for questions. Participants can use ppt or PDF formats. The files must be uploaded at 9:30 – before the start of the conference. We recommend making a short introduction about the area of presented research.

We require to upload a summary of your presentation as well as the full presentation in the registration form. The uploaded presentation will be evaluated by the program committee. The evaluated presentation with the highlighted mistakes will be sent to your specified e-mail and will have to be corrected until the beginning of the conference.

Conference material

The material of each presentation will be evaluated by the program committee, so we kindly ask  you to attach your presentation and a summary of your presentation in the registration form based on the requirements and guidelines described below:

Summary:

  • No more than two pages and no more than 1 MB file size.
  • Extension of the file should be *.doc or *.rtf.
  • Conference reports` languages: Lithuanian, English.

Full Presentation:

  • Extension of the file should be *.doc or *.rtf.
  • Conference reports` languages: Lithuanian, English.

You can attach the file during the registration at the webpage of the conference. Deadline is the 15th of March, 2019.

Report format

  • Text editor – Microsoft Word
  • Font – Times New Roman
  • No page number are required
  • Page format – A5
  • Line spacing – Single
  • Margins:
    • Top and Bottom – 1,5 cm
    • Left and Right – 1,75 cm
    • First line indent – 0,7 cm

Use the following font size and style for different parts of Your report:

Title 14 bold
Authors 12 bold
University 10 italic
Main text 10 normal
Tables 9 normal
Literature list 9 normal

It will be printed in black and white version.
